Graduate women in Science is a nonprofit organization. As such, its goals are to to identify and to develop the leaders of women in science tomorrow to supersede the women in science leaders of today.
Donations made to this chapter will be used for the following projects:
1) Community outreach events at local schools. Right now we are looking specifically for funds to buy plant supplies for the “Jurassic Garden” exhibit, which teaches kids about Hawaiian plants.
2) Travel funds. We would like to do an outreach event on one of the outer Hawaiian Islands (probably either Lanai or Molokai). In addition, we would like to send a representative to the 2012 GWIS National Meeting.
